Textbook Excercises

Textbook exercises

Chapter 10 of the text goes in depth on sociotechnical systems. Here are my answers to the  exercise questions:

10.6
The organizational difficulties that arise will learning the new software that will be in place. The museum employees who know how to work this new system will have a new deal of political power in the organization because of this knowledge.
Another problem that may arise is job changes. For example, if the museum had live artist renditions of ancient Greece or if they had live actors re-enacting battles that occurred in ancient Greece then they will not need to use these actors or artists anymore because of the new system. The system has de-skilled the current employees.
The last change will deal with process changes. Current employees might not like that they have to learn how to use a new 3D software, and will reject the system.

10.10
I do not feel that it is your responsibilities to finish the work you have start since you do not have access to it anymore. I think it would be a good idea however, to communicate to the new person contracted to this project of the issue you encountered while you were working on it.
